breaking news on a picture you don't see every day. this is daly city, california, just south of san francisco. that is a water main break. it is literally flooding that hillside, down into that street area, and the homes in this neighborhood. some of the homes have been evacuated according to police. and also a spokesman for the water and wastewater resources in daly city. flooding now impacting the area around this intersection you see here. that is near hilltop park if you know the area. they have got a mess on their hands right now. it is happening in northern california. we'll keep track of it for you right here on "america's newsroom.". martha: you mentioned this earlier. a u.s. software mogul is at the center of a south american murder case. you may recognize john mcafee's name because the software probably pops up on your screen all the time, mcafee anti-virus software? apparently he is living in bee lose. police want question him in the death of his neighbor -- belize. rick leventhal in new york with the latest on the story. >> reporter: good morning, martha. millions of peo

in the local proximity. we are now in a global marketplace. i was in california last week. we need to compete across the country. it involves technology, investment in technology. i believe it starts in grades k- 12. talk about jobs between -- for people in their 20s and 30s. if we do not try to be more advanced, we will not be competitive in the global market. >> the middle class here is facing the same problem the middle-class is facing everywhere in the country. our government has not been able to work together because of being controlled by major lobby groups that are not putting in place specific things like comprehensive tax return -- tax reform that makes sense that accumulates revenue and is equitably history. we need to make sure we have comprehensive tax reform that makes sense and address the waste and mismanagement and misallocation of resources we see throughout government as is evidenced in benghazi. we need to address that. we can address that by having more independents there to let the people know there is someone else available to take their place. >> let's move onto the nex

imagery dropping down into northern california, as well. so the garden hose is out and it's coming down pretty good. portland up i-5 across the river, vancouver up to seattle, this is heavy at time. snow levels will be rising over the next couple days. mostly going to be a flood event. flood watches for most of western oregon including parts of northern and eastern parts of washington. snow levels rising. rainier, some higher peaks will get some serious snow. but the winds also blowing. look at these recorded wind gusts. yaquina head, 98-mile-per-hour gust. that is hurricane strength you betcha. and this is the time of year where they get their windstorms and they're getting it pretty good. a three-day event expected there. mostly northern california through vancouver, b.c., so cal looks good. much of the inner mountain west looks good as well. a weak front through central parts of the u.s., kansas city through st. louis, pretty weak, but it will have some showers there and fog across the great lakes if you're travelling there. breezy across parts of the carolinas and a little bit of sh
